During the Feb. 11 work session councilmembers reviewed the draft regular‑meeting agenda and generally agreed to move multiple noncontroversial items to the consent agenda.
Staff presented three special event permit applications: Reimagine Milton (a recurring community assistance event), a first‑time Beats and Eats Jazz Festival proposed for Jernigan's Landing, and an evening of worship at Jernigan's Landing on the Blackwater River. Councilmembers indicated consensus to place all three on consent.
Councilmembers also agreed to place the ARPA project list on consent. Staff proposed several public‑works items for consent: the purchase of a front‑end loader sanitation truck, the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) grant agreement for the wastewater treatment plant, and a building security access control system. Business improvement grant applications were discussed; two applications will move forward but one councilmember requested to hear from the applicant before final placement on consent.
Several agenda items were deferred or moved to a workshop: item 2025‑5311 (water/sewer/trash monthly report) was moved to the next workshop. Council directed staff to prepare the consent packet for the regular meeting.
