Dr. Osgood reported that the university’s goal of 16,124 students in scheduled status for the spring semester was reached. Finance and registrar teams, along with financial aid staff, are working to move students from scheduled status to paid status. Officials said funds from FIA arrived toward the end of the break and are being applied; about 67 students remain for whom the teams are resolving outstanding balances.
Trustees were told a new FAFSA form for the 2025–26 academic year has been released. The university is monitoring whether outstanding issues at the U.S. Department of Education’s systems have been resolved and said it hopes the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will also have resolved packaging issues by the time financial aid offers are prepared for the coming year.
The report noted a new application step for some FIA funds through the Grama US platform, which created an additional administrative obstacle; university staff and the interim chancellor engaged directly with FIA to secure personal outreach to assist students with balances.
No formal action was taken; trustees received the report.
