Committee receives timeline for 2026 master plan economic development update, asks for review template

Wildwood planning and economic development staff asked the Economic Development Committee to review the economic development element of the city master plan and provided a proposed process and timeline for updating the element ahead of a 2026 adoption.
Mr. Lee and planning staff said the master plan's economic development element was adopted in 2016 and that the city's volunteers and planning staff will review each element of the plan over the coming months. Staff recommended an online interactive form (or a paper alternative) that lists each goal, objective and policy and provides slots for committee members to indicate whether the item should be kept, changed, removed or added to and to provide suggested language.
Staff said volunteers will begin reviewing elements imminently and asked the committee to submit initial feedback within approximately 15 days so the city can compile committee suggestions for the volunteer review. Planning staff noted mid-summer as the likely timeframe for drafting recommended changes and reiterated that the committee's local business forums and recent meetings provide relevant input for updating the economic development section.
No formal vote was taken; staff said they will circulate the shared template and consolidate committee input for the volunteers and the planning department.
