Committee endorses internal survey process as master-plan oversight works through community input

Staff will share goal/objective/policy questionnaires with committee members to collect feedback for the master plan update; the department reported more than 400 public survey responses already.
Public Works staff updated the committee on the municipal master-plan update and requested the committee’s help in reviewing the community services and transportation elements. Staff proposed sending a targeted internal survey (one question per goal/objective/policy plus a box for additions) to committee members, then compiling responses and returning a summary to the master-plan consultant for use by the citizen oversight committee.
Staff said the citizen oversight group has met twice and will address the transportation and community services elements in the coming months. The department proposed distributing a SurveyMonkey link to committee members with the goal/objective/policy list and a freeform comment area; staff planned to bring a summary of responses to the April committee meeting. Staff also reported that the citywide quick-feedback master-plan survey published over a recent weekend already garnered more than 400 responses, indicating strong public interest.
The committee approved distributing the internal survey to committee members and asked staff to return with a summary at the April meeting.
