Board selects "Whisper" theme for administration bathroom remodel

The Sweetwater Authority Finance and Administration Committee on March 3, 2025, selected the “Whisper” theme (option 1) for materials and finishes for the administration building bathroom remodel and directed staff to proceed with that design selection.
Staff reminded the committee that the board previously awarded the construction contract at the December 11 meeting and that the contractor provided three theme options for finishes: Whisper, Desert Sand and Ocean Breeze. Committee members reviewed display boards and discussed aesthetics and perceptions; several members said they preferred the Whisper option because it felt safer and less stark than the Ocean Breeze sample.
The mayor moved to approve option 1 (Whisper) and another director seconded. The roll call vote was Director Martinez — aye; Director Morrison — aye; Director Yamani — aye. The motion carried unanimously. Staff said the project cost is within the facilities budget and that the facilities master plan, which will be presented to the committee in April, will present a comprehensive schedule for building maintenance and asset management.
Staff will proceed with the selected materials for the administration bathroom remodel and present related facilities planning to the committee at a later meeting.
