Budget personnel committee approves nine governor letters moving and reclassifying state positions

The Budget Personnel Committee on an unan‑imous voice vote approved nine governor personnel letters that transfer, reclassify or add state positions across several agencies and adjust salary and matching-appropriation totals.

Committee members approved the governor letters, labeled B‑1 through B‑9, after brief staff presentations and limited questions. The items moved positions among Department of Human Services divisions, the Department of Military, the Department of Commerce (bank and securities divisions), the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) and the Department of Public Safety, among others.

The approvals included transfers and dollar adjustments described in staff presentations: governor's letter 14 (B‑1) transfers 19 positions from the Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance to Aging, Adult Behavioral Health Services and Developmental Disabilities and “takes the total position appropriation down from 205 positions to a 86” and reduces regular salaries and matching appropriation by $1,400,000; governor's letter 16 (B‑2) transfers a nurse manager and five RNs and increases total positions by four and regular salaries and match by $300,000; governor's letter 17 (B‑3) moves 16 positions into Aging and Behavioral Health raising that division from 1,163 to 1,179 positions and increases regular salaries; and governor's letter 18 (B‑4) for the Department of Military…
