Sandusky announces Aquatic Center grand opening May 27; lifeguard recruitment underway

A parks representative said the Sandusky Aquatic Center will hold a grand opening Tuesday, May 27, in the evening and the event will be open to the community.
"I just want, no, it's okay. I just wanted to invite everyone to the Sandusky Aquatic Center grand opening. It'll be officially out and released soon, but I'll give you guys the date, to get it on your calendars now. That is gonna be Tuesday, May 27 in the evening, probably around 6PM," the staff member said. The event will include giveaways for the first 500 attendees and a chance for the public to see the facility.
Staff said they are meeting with partners to finalize the schedule and hope to have flyers and program times available at the open house so residents can learn when public swim hours will begin. The parks office also said the aquatic director, Chris Carr, is recruiting lifeguards and is operating temporarily from the Athletic Office; staff encouraged students and community members to contact the Athletic Office about lifeguard positions.
No public-use schedule was finalized at the meeting; staff said they expect to publish program dates and times around the open-house event.
