Supporters said the program addresses pedestrian safety and accessibility. Amy Zace, speaking as a member of Bike Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Walks, told the committee, "We envision walking infrastructure that is accessible and enjoyable throughout all of our 90 neighborhoods."
