The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education on Feb. 18 approved routine and personnel matters and held a first reading on a proposed change to the board's meeting start time.

- Summer learning salary schedule (item 12 d): With the end of ESSER funding the district reported its summer-learning budget has dropped to roughly one-third of recent years and said the salary schedule was adjusted accordingly. Changes include moving teacher pay from a daily to an hourly rate, adjusting program coordinator pay, and eliminating several stipends. The board approved the revised schedule by voice vote.
- First reading: Amendment to resolution establishing rules of procedure (item 10): The board received a first reading of a revision to the rules of procedure that would move the regular board meeting start time from 6:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. District staff said this is a first reading and final adoption will be scheduled at the next board meeting; no final vote was taken tonight.
Several of the approvals were taken by voice vote with no roll-call tallies included in the meeting transcript.
