The City of Pittsburgh LGBTQIA+ Commission elected Julian McClain and Cece (CC) as co-chairs and appointed Alexander Graham as outreach coordinator during its February monthly meeting.
The commission reached a voice vote on the co-chair positions after nominations and brief discussion. Julian McClain accepted a nomination to serve and was approved by voice vote. Cece (referred to as “CC” in nominations) was nominated and approved by voice vote. Alexander Graham accepted the nomination and was approved as outreach coordinator by a unanimous voice vote. The commission left the secretary and treasurer positions vacant after no nominees were presented.
Commission members discussed procedural details about nominations and whether nominees must be present to accept office. Members also noted that some incumbents had indicated they may not be able to serve a substantial time commitment if re-elected. The commission proceeded with nominations from members present and used voice votes to confirm appointments.
The newly elected officers will join the commission's executive team; no further implementation steps or effective dates were specified during the meeting.
The meeting concluded the election item and moved on to reports of special committees and other business.
Ending: The commission closed the election process with congratulations to the new co-chairs and outreach coordinator; the secretary and treasurer positions will remain open until future nominations.
