Orange City SD treasurer Todd Poster to retire after decade of service

The board and administrators thanked Poster for his service. A board member reading a passage by 19th‑century writer John Henry Newman called Poster a “gentleman” and praised his demeanor. Members of the board and district leaders recalled Poster’s role in the district’s hiring and financial work and wished him well for the remainder of his term.
Poster described his relationship with the district and said he expects to remain active after his official retirement. He thanked administrators and colleagues by name and said he appreciated the opportunity to serve the community.
The board took the action as a formal personnel resolution; no additional conditions or contingencies were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board will proceed with plans to fill the treasurer role in accordance with district procedures; specific timing and the name of a successor were not specified at the meeting.
