Winton Woods board endorses fair‑funding plan and approves routine finance, personnel and policy items

The Winton Woods City School Board on Feb. 24 unanimously adopted a resolution urging the Ohio General Assembly to complete the final phase‑in of the Fair School Funding Plan and approved a package of routine finance, personnel and policy items.

The board’s most consequential action was passage of a resolution “in support of full implementation of the Fair School Funding Plan,” which the board said would help ensure districts statewide receive funding consistent with the formula’s methodology. The board directed staff to send the resolution to state lawmakers representing the district.

Other formal actions the board approved, all by roll call votes that recorded all four board members voting yes, were: waiving the reading of minutes for prior meetings; approving the minutes as presented; presenting the January financial statements for audit; approving the district’s January investment report; authorizing six Board of Revision complaints on several commercial properties that sold in 2023; accepting a negotiated separation agreement for an employee; approving multiple personnel schedules; confirming the second read of revised board policies from the fall update; and…
