The appointment matters because the Planning Board’s student representative participates in meetings and provides a youth perspective on planning matters. City staff told the board the position is selected by the board rather than by the city council and that the city clerk was present to administer the oath so the new member could participate that night.
Miguel Adolph introduced himself at the meeting, saying he attends Yale University and serves as class president for the class of 2026. After a board motion to appoint him passed, the city clerk administered the oath of office, and Adolph took his seat as a participating member for the remainder of the meeting.
The appointment was taken by motion and approved by voice vote; the board recorded no roll-call tally in the meeting minutes.
