Council reviews three annexation and rezoning requests along South Dixie Boulevard

City staff presented three property annexation requests that would bring multiple parcels along South Dixie Boulevard and an adjacent tract into Radcliff city limits and reclassify them from Hardin County R1 to a Radcliff commercial zone.
Murray told the council the applications are from Glenn Turner and Lehi Turner and cover several adjoining parcels roughly across from the Walgreens at the intersection of East Pine Street and South Dixie Boulevard. Property sizes listed at the hearing included 4.532 acres for portions of Silverpoint Subdivision (Lots 2A and 3A), 0.45 acres for part of Howie Ayers Subdivision (tract 7B), and a deed-book‑referenced parcel of about 0.14 acres. Murray said the planning commission recommended approval of the corresponding zone map amendments.
On the annexation applications, Murray said the applicant stated an intended use of “an upscale convenience store” with possible bakery and deli components. Murray also reported there was no public opposition at the planning commission hearing; Turner was the only public commenter. City staff cautioned that certain improvements — including updating a road maintenance agreement and amending a subdivision plat to account for a small additional right‑of‑way — remain outstanding and that state permitting and driveway/entrance approvals for Dixie Highway access have been an ongoing discussion with the state.
The council did not vote on the annexations in the work session. Staff indicated the items will move forward through the council process for formal consideration, consistent with the planning commission’s recommendation.
