Westminster High student Dakota Hall recognized as school's first state wrestling champion

The Westminster Public Schools Board of Education recognized Dakota Hall, a Westminster High School student, on March 11 as the district’s first state wrestling champion.
Dr. Gatto introduced Hall’s championship and shared photos and a short account of the title match, describing Hall as undefeated during championship weekend and noting that she pinned a nationally ranked opponent in the finals. "Dakota Hall, Westminster High School's first state champion ever," the district presentation said.
Dakota Hall spoke briefly to the board: "I just wanted to thank everybody for all the celebrations that I've gotten in the last month. I'm truly thankful for all of that.", according to the meeting record. Board members congratulated Hall and noted her academic plans: Hall said she chose Westminster High for its engineering program and that she plans to pursue engineering. She also said wrestling is relatively new for her: "My first year wrestling was last year."
District leaders highlighted Hall’s background in judo and the opportunities in the school that influenced her choice to attend Westminster High School.
The board took a photo and the meeting proceeded to subsequent agenda items.
