Clark County Fiscal Court members discussed an outstanding deed and easement issue involving a water-tower parcel on Exton Road and directed staff to pursue corrected deed paperwork with the law firm that handled the original liens and documents.
The matter matters because the county currently holds title but parties expected the property and related easements to revert or transfer after loan payoffs and administrative steps were not completed in 2024, leaving uncertainty about who should remove the tower and who bears its cost.
Magistrates and staff recalled a large packet of paperwork brought to the court in July and said the county attorney had not completed a review of those documents at the time. A court speaker said the property is currently "in the county's name" and that removal of the tank at Exton Road would cost about "$3,035,000 dollars" as stated in the paperwork presented. The court discussed that some loan instruments on the property are long-term ("10, 15 years") and that some loans have been paid off.
Court members asked staff to identify the drafter of the deeds and to ask that law firm (identified in the meeting by the shorthand "Keiko" in the record) to reformat or re-draft the deeds in the county's preferred form. County counsel and fiscal-court staff agreed to prioritize the single required deed immediately and then address the remaining documents.
No formal vote was recorded; the court agreed to pursue the deed re-drafting and to coordinate with the Clark County District Court records and other agencies as needed.
