The Peoria City Council took the following actions on March 11, 2025. All recorded votes were unanimous unless noted.
- Approve minutes of the joint City Council and Town Board meeting (02/11/2025). Motion to approve by Council Member Riggenbach; seconded by Council Member Graepp. Outcome: approved unanimously.
- Town expenditures: approve February 2025 actual expenditures and March 2025 anticipated expenditures for the Town of the City of Peoria (agenda item 25-33). Motion by Trustee Grama; seconded by Council Member Kelly. Outcome: approved unanimously.
- Approve agenda for the annual town meeting to be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 (25-34). Motion by Trustee Grama; seconded by Trustee Cyr. Outcome: approved unanimously.
- Approve amended intergovernmental agreement between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the City of Peoria (25-37). Motion to approve by Council Member Cyr; seconded by Council Member Gordon Young. Outcome: approved unanimously; staff confirmed ATF had moved in.
- Adopt ordinance partially abating the tax levied to pay Holiday Inn special-service-area property taxes in the amount of $160,000 (25-401). Motion to approve by Council Member Cyr; seconded by Council Member Gordon Young. Outcome: approved unanimously.
- Adopt ordinance partially abating the tax levied to pay Peoria Sports Center special-service-area property taxes in the amount of $150,000 (25-42). Motion to approve by Council Member Cyr; seconded by Council Member Gordon Young. Outcome: approved unanimously.
- Deny request to amend the municipal code for Class 2 tobacco retail licenses and deny a special use application for a tobacco/alternative nicotine product sales use at 1301 West Pioneer Parkway (25-52). Motion to deny by Council Member Cyr; seconded by Council Member Valpula. Outcome: denial approved unanimously.
- Receive and file month-ended 01/31/2025 unaudited financial report (25-53). Motion to receive and file by Council Member Cyr; seconded by Council Member Gordon Young. Outcome: received and filed unanimously.
- Unfinished business: adopt ordinance removing designated lots from an elderly-housing special use along 12 Oaks Drive to allow market-rate duplex development (25-22). Motion to adopt by Council Member Grama; seconded by Council Member Riggenbach. Outcome: adopted unanimously.
- Adjournment: motion to adjourn by Council Member Cyr; seconded by Council Member Gordon Young. Outcome: approved unanimously.
