Orinda planning commission approves limited public access permit for Joaquin Moraga Adobe

The Orinda Planning Commission on March 11 approved a general use permit to allow the Friends of the Joaquin Moraga Adobe to operate the Joaquin Moraga Adobe at 60 Adobe Lane as a cultural institution with limited public access.
City planning staff told the commission the permit would authorize public visits for a maximum of 30 days per year, with posted hours and other controls intended to limit traffic and protect the adjacent J and J Ranch Subdivision. "The Moraga Adobe Museum will be open for public access for maximum of 30 days per year," said Darren Hughes, associate planner with the planning department, describing the applicant’s proposed terms.
The action implements conditions and mitigation tied to a March 26, 2013 memorandum of agreement and a final environmental impact report certified for the J and J Ranch Subdivision in October 2015. Hughes said the permit as approved…
