Key items Bastine reported include: installation of Geotab GPS devices on maintenance vehicles; Columbia Gas scheduled to install gas lines and rooftop unit work at 60 Public Square; a crane visit and schedule for removing and replacing a chiller unit (work to take a few hours on a weekend); auctioning excess furniture at 72 Public Square and other buildings with recycling or disposal of unsold items; vestibule door installation at Administration Building Entrance B and planned garage-door replacement at that site; ongoing interior bathroom/plumbing and flooring renovations timed to precede an elevator upgrade (the elevator overhaul is scheduled for May and estimated to take six weeks with a contingency to push back if needed); demo and abatement of 93 Public Square has begun; RTU and AHU replacements and condensate issues at the jail are under investigation; and some RTU/regulator issues at the soil and water administration site remain under repair.
Bastine said the Facilities team met with architects to review the County Home dining-room footers and that new electrical panels were installed at the County Home to restore fire-suppression functionality. He noted coordination needs with tenant events (a Memorial Day weekend dance show) and indicated contractors (including Kone elevator) have agreed to schedule flexibility if the county requests it.
Ending: Commissioners asked about timing and contingency plans for elevator and bathroom work and thanked Facilities staff for progress updates; the Professional Building recently had a bid opening but no award decision was made during the meeting.
