Washington County approves tax phase-in for Del Sol Food Company expansion in Brenham

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Texas — Washington County Commissioners Court on Tuesday approved a resolution adopting a commercial tax phase-in agreement with Del Sol Food Company Inc. to support an expansion in Brenham.
The county economic development office told commissioners the company applied to Washington County on Dec. 17, 2024, and the city of Brenham approved a related incentive on March 6, 2025. County staff said the project sits in Reinvestment Zone Number 53 on a 29.153-acre parcel identified in materials as 3015 and 3151 South Bluebell Road in Brenham. Total capital investment for the project was stated as $14,000,000, and county staff said Del Sol expects to hire about 20 additional employees.
"On Dec. 17, 2024, Washington County Economic Development received an application for a tax phase-in and abatement from Del Sol Food Company Incorporated, which has now been processed," said Miss Rosales, representing Washington County Economic Development. She told the court the company also sought and received a city-level incentive through Brenham.
Del Sol representatives were present. Scott Eckert, identified in the meeting as president and CEO of Del Sol, attended along with Sam Summer, vice president of finance and accounting, and answered commissioner questions about the expansion.
A commissioner moved to approve the resolution adopting the county's commercial tax phase-in agreement with Del Sol Food Company Inc.; another commissioner seconded the motion. The motion carried after the court voted "aye." The record does not list roll-call votes by name in the transcript.
