Committee members also discussed ACAC and Title IX; they said federal Title IX regulations changed in 2024 and that January 2025 guidance led the committee to retain the district’s 2020 ACAC language pending further NHSBA updates.
Why it matters: The committee explained that many of the reviewed policies are interlinked; adopting updated NHSBA sample policies will require cross‑checks with related forms and procedures. The committee recommended holding some proposed changes until the NHSBA issues its finalized updates.
Committee members said they reviewed multiple draft policies (ACR‑2, ACA, ACAP, ACF and ACAC among others) and have agreed to adopt NHSBA sample language for several items. The policy committee recommended rescinding ACE and replacing it with ACR‑2 when the board takes the first read.
The report did not request immediate board votes; it asked the full board to consider ACR‑2 as a first read and to await further NHSBA guidance for some Title IX‑linked policies.
No formal action on those specific policy adoptions was taken at the Feb. 12 meeting; the committee will return drafts to the full board for future consideration.
