Committee approves parking software, transit grants and appointments; minutes adopted

The Tompkins County Facilities and Infrastructure Committee on Feb. 20 approved minutes, confirmed an advisory board appointment and voted to accept several grant-related resolutions and a parking system upgrade.
The committee unanimously approved the Jan. 16, 2025, minutes (moved by Mike Lane; seconded by Susan Curry). It also approved an advisory board appointment, naming Greg Mezi (Legislator) to the Air Service Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2027 (moved by Mike Lane; seconded by Susan Curry).
Under resolutions, the committee approved a terminal paid-parking software/server upgrade for Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ID 13113). Josh (Airport) described the change as a move to a web-based system that allows remote staff operation and avoids purchasing and replacing a county-owned server. The motion was moved by Susan Curry and seconded by Randy Brown; the committee voted in favor.
The committee also approved three transit-related resolutions brought by planning and transit staff: - Authorization to submit for and accept a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) competitive Low- or No-Emission Vehicle Program (section 5339(c)) grant for Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) to purchase two hybrid-electric buses (federal share ~85%). (Moved by Susan Curry; seconded by Randy Brown.) - Authorization to submit the New York State Department of Transportation Section 5311 Rural Formula Grant Program application for 2024–2025 operating, capital and mobility-management funding (application was posted for public comment). (Moved by Susan Curry; seconded by Randy Brown.) - Acceptance of the FTA 5339 bus and bus-facilities allocation for 2024 (federal share $430,708) to be split between TCAT and Gadabout for facility rehabilitation and an electric bus purchase. (Moved by Mike Lane; seconded by Randy Brown.)
All votes on the resolutions were taken by voice; committee members voiced approval and the chair declared the motions carried.
