The Altamonte Springs City Commission on Feb. 4 unanimously approved minutes from its Jan. 21 regular meeting and unanimously waived the formal solicitation process to designate SESCO Lighting Incorporated as a single‑source vendor for streetlight repair and replacement materials for fiscal year 2025.
The motion to waive formal solicitation declared SESCO Lighting Inc. the single‑source vendor for purchase of streetlight repair and replacement materials in an amount not to exceed $100,000 (SSD-25-019-KY). The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote; the presiding officer said the motion "passes unanimously." The commission also voted to accept the minutes of the Jan. 21 regular meeting by voice vote.
Why it matters: declaring a single source vendor lets staff buy specified parts and materials without conducting a competitive solicitation, speeding procurement for maintenance of the city's streetlight network. The commission's action authorizes staff to proceed with purchases up to the specified dollar cap.
No amendments or conditions were placed on either vote during the meeting. The motions recorded in the minutes provide the formal authorization for staff to execute purchases and to finalize the minutes as the official record.
Other business concluded quickly afterward and the meeting was adjourned.
