Officials revive summer auto and off-road events in 2025 calendar; insurance and venue details remain unresolved

Warren County officials on Feb. 28 discussed bringing several motor-vehicle events back onto the 2025 schedule after organizers signaled renewed interest, while noting insurance and venue-capacity issues that must be resolved before final approvals.
Mayor Terry said the promoter of Blinker Fluid Productions — identified in discussion as Jamie — had canceled and reinstated event plans several times because insurance costs for off-road and trail components had risen “tripled, if not quadrupled.” Promoters are proposing a modern muscle car show and separate Jeep and Bronco invasions at Wood Park and surrounding venues. The promoter surveyed members and reported that most respondents prioritized visiting Lake George over trail rides, which prompted the promoter to propose concentrating activity at Wood Park and nearby overflow locations.
Officials said Wood Park can accommodate about 250 parked Jeeps and that Fort William Henry is willing to host overflow and rooms for attendees. Sam Luciano of Fort William Henry told meeting participants that the hotel would be willing to host event overflow if schedules align. Mayor Terry said tentative dates under discussion included June 20–21 for the modern muscle car event (with related Jeep activities around Father’s Day) and a possible Bronco event Sep. 26–28; dates are contingent on insurance and venue coordination.
Staff and officials emphasized there is no final approval yet: Mayor Terry said she was “gonna put that 1 back in play,” and the committee asked staff to coordinate with event promoters and Fort William Henry. The committee also noted the promotional group’s regional membership and outreach; organizers mentioned contacts in New Jersey and Gloversville with large Jeep groups.
Separately, officials briefly raised other potential bookings, including an approach from the Shriners about a circus and a note that organizers may seek hotel and venue support; the committee also discussed reconvening discussions on a playground and splash pad project and preparing a presentation to the Wright Family Foundation and the Wood Foundation. No formal votes were taken to approve event contracts or date confirmations; staff were asked to continue coordination and return with details to the committee.
