The LakeGeorge.tv team presented year-two results to the Warren County Occupancy Tax Coordination Committee on Feb. 27, saying the platform produced measurable audience growth, new partner tools and trackable marketing outcomes that benefit local businesses.
Jesse Jackson, who led the presentation, said the platform was “performing, really well” and that it had generated responses the team hoped for. He said the project began more than three years ago and that staff saw streaming and connected-TV trends as an opportunity to create a video-centric tourism platform for Warren County.
Presenters said the platform now hosts more than 900 videos across roughly 25 collections, and that the team launched membership subchannels for chambers and local visitor centers to show member videos on in-market displays. Ed Larkin said the team added Amazon Fire TV to existing Roku and Apple TV support, introduced continuous video loops for categories, and made the platform and individual videos embeddable on third-party websites.
Amanda Mesker presented marketing tactics and results. She said social reach across Facebook, TikTok and Instagram reached 500,000 in 2024 and that the team has run four seasonal sweepstakes with 17 partners across the county. The team said the sweepstakes and email collection work yielded more than 5,000 visitor contacts, and staff reported email campaigns with about a 50% open rate and a 23% click-through rate for that list.
Presenters cited performance metrics they said showed strong year-two growth: visitor reach grew, platform visitors rose from about 6,600 to more than 55,000 (reported as an 827% increase), content views grew about 490%, video playtime rose from roughly 287,000 seconds to more than 2,000,000 seconds, and clicks to businesses increased from about 5,800 to over 40,000 (reported as nearly 700% growth). The team said roughly 90% of viewers came from the region the county targets (within a three- to four-hour drive).
Supervisors asked whether click metrics equated to physical visits; presenters said clicks measure engagement (URL or QR-code clicks) and that the team collects business testimonials corroborating some in-person visits linked to platform referrals. One supervisor asked about dollar-impact metrics; presenters said quantifying direct revenue at the county level is difficult because businesses have multiple marketing sources, though they collect partner testimonies and track clicks and email opt-ins.
A supervisor asked for an update on Winter’s Dream (a large one-time event previously funded by the county); staff said they would follow up with the board on any contact or updates from the event organizer, Moment Factory.
The committee thanked the LakeGeorge.tv team and moved on to the final business of the meeting.
