Curry reviewed an amendment to Senate Bill 1020 that, he said, would rewrite the bill and carve out the law’s application so it would apply only in counties where a single city school system operates; he and Ms. Speakman, the district attorney/legal staff member, said that modification likely removes a provision that would have affected Germantown. "It literally rewrites the whole bill," Ms. Speakman said in describing the amendment and its implications for the district.
