Senate adopts resolution honoring Owen County Chamber of Commerce on its 100th year

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Senate adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 27 honoring the 100th anniversary of the Owen County Chamber of Commerce.
Senator Bray introduced the resolution and invited leaders of the Owen County Chamber of Commerce to the front of the chamber. Bray noted the Chamber’s founding date — June 25, 1925 — and said the organization began with a meeting of about 60 people and membership dues of $25 for full members and $10 for associate members at that time. Bray praised the Chamber for its work on economic development, workforce development, housing and infrastructure in Owen County and asked the Senate for its support.
The resolution was placed upon its passage by voice vote and adopted. The secretary was instructed to notify the House of the resolution’s passage. The chamber also acknowledged the chamber’s representative, Marcy King, who was present for the recognition.
The resolution is ceremonial and recognizes the Owen County Chamber of Commerce for its centennial contributions to the county’s business and workforce development.
