The Senate Finance Committee adopted the Article 9 work‑group recommendations by voice vote, approving a limited set of section amendments and targeted funding items.
Stuart Shallow of the Legislative Budget Board presented the decision document for Article 9. "Beginning on page 2, section 17 is adopted to provide a 6% across the board salary increase for licensed attorneys totaling $39,300,000 in general revenue and the same in all funds," he said.
The committee also adopted amendments aligning fiscal notes for Senate Bill 293 and SJR 3, and approved a $5,000,000 HHSC allocation and an additional $5,000,000 in Article 11 to fund the Texas All‑Payer Claims Database. The packet included four riders that were not adopted.
Senator Campbell moved adoption of the Article 9 package; with no objections, the committee adopted the items by voice vote.
