The Holmen Board of Education approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda by voice votes at its March 10 meeting.
Board Clerk Maggie Smith called the roll at the start of the meeting; the chair declared a quorum. The initial motion to approve the agenda was moved by board member Chris Lau and seconded by Maggie Smith; the board approved the agenda by voice vote. Later, the consent agenda was moved by Maggie Smith and seconded by Barb Wench; the board approved the consent agenda by voice vote.
During board reports, members noted a recent policy committee meeting. Board member Maggie Smith said the policy committee met March 5 and advanced 24 policy changes to the board; two policies were rescinded. The board packet for the March 24 meeting will include the updated policies for first reading and expected placement on the consent agenda unless a member requests separate consideration. Members were advised to contact Dr. Kristen Mueller with questions prior to March 24.
The board also reviewed upcoming meetings and community events: a board workshop on March 19 at 6 p.m.; the next regular board meeting on March 24 at 7 p.m.; a referendum community session in the boardroom on March 27 at 6:30 p.m.; the spring election on April 1; and a wellness committee meeting on April 2 at 3:45 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:13 p.m. on a motion moved by Chris Lau and seconded by Bridget Todd Robbins, carried by voice vote.
