The Santa Fe Springs Planning Commission approved a time extension for Development Plan Approval Case No. 1003, which allows construction of a new 57,489-square-foot concrete tilt-up industrial building at 13007 Telegraph Road in the M-2 (heavy manufacturing) zone.
At the start of the consent calendar discussion, Chair Sarno announced he would recuse himself from item No. 4, saying, “I will be recusing myself from participating in the discussion or vote on item number 4. The property is within 500 foot radius of my business.” Sarno left the chamber and passed the gavel to Vice Chair Jimenez, who conducted the item.
The commission had no questions and moved the item as part of the consent calendar. After a motion and second, the planning commission secretary conducted a roll-call vote with the following recorded: Commissioner Flores — Aye; Commissioner Cervantes — Aye; Commissioner Ayala — Aye; Vice Chair Jimenez — Aye. Chair Sarno was recused and absent for the vote. The secretary noted the action carries a 14-day appeal period.
The consent item was presented as a routine matter; no public comments were received for the item. The extension preserves prior approvals and allows the applicant to proceed under existing entitlements, subject to any conditions in the original approval and to the standard appeal period.
