The Lebanon City Council voted to approve Resolution 2025-04, granting GXO Logistics Supply Chain Inc. a four-year, 50% personal property tax abatement for new equipment tied to an expansion project in Lebanon.
Jessica Schwartz of the Boone Economic Development Corporation presented the request and said the proposed investment—equipment such as conveyors, racking and automation software—would support growth tied to a potential automated fulfillment contract and add “400 plus new jobs,” with the company currently employing more than 2,200 in the county.
Rob read the council’s resolution language and findings of fact, which reference the company’s Statement of Benefits (SB-1) attached to the resolution. The resolution records an estimated cost for new equipment of $11,720,000 and finds hiring of approximately 415 new employees and aggregate annual salaries of $21,467,784 are reasonably expected results of the project. The resolution confirms the site lies within an established economic revitalization area and authorizes the four-year, 50% personal property deduction under Indiana law.
The council heard no public comment on the resolution, moved to approve, and adopted the measure by voice vote. Council members described the package as a sound return on investment for the city and noted GXO’s local philanthropic participation and workforce programs.
The abatement applies only to personal property tied to the described investment and does not change prior incentives that will expire in 2027, the resolution states. The adoption is effective immediately upon passage.
