The Clarksburg Sanitary Board approved the purchase of a mobile pathfinder inspection camera and trailer under a Sourcewell contract and reviewed a quote for GIS-system mapping and ongoing licensing.
The board approved expenditure to acquire the inspection camera and trailer (vendor and contract identified in the packet as Airline Industries through Sourcewell). A board member moved and a second carried the motion by voice vote.
Staff presented a quote to review the board’s GIS mapping and bring it into city systems. Staff estimated a one-time review fee of “about $30” based on the information currently available but cautioned that the figure could change; staff also said annual licensing and maintenance for the service (ArcGIS/ArcMap) would be roughly $3,000–$5,000 per year. Staff said the one-time estimate—and the annual range—depend on how much data the county can provide directly so the board does not duplicate work.
The board also approved, by motion and voice vote, the cemetery board minutes from Feb. 11, 2025.
Why it matters: The inspection camera is a tool for sewer-line condition assessment and can speed repairs and reduce the need for more invasive investigations. A GIS upgrade and licensing affect the board’s asset-management capability and recurring operating costs.
What’s next: Staff will pursue the Sourcewell procurement for the camera and continue to coordinate with county GIS staff to refine the scope and price for the mapping work.
