Public works and county facilities staff updated the Cowlitz County commissioners on maintenance procurement, a slide-repair project and the county’s capital improvements fund.
Public works staff said a consent agenda item will request approximately 12,680 tons of aggregate for the county’s 2025 chip-seal program. Delivery locations will include four maintenance shops; cost varies by quarry and freight and leftover material is typically used for parking lots and similar maintenance tasks. The county maintains an annual contract for road surfacing materials and will award to multiple bidders based on shop delivery locations.
