A commissioner said the guardrail sits about 6 inches from the pavement in a blind curve and that because farm equipment has grown wider, the current placement can trap tractors and other implements on tight curves.
Staff told the board they met with property owners and farming-community representatives and developed a plan B. Jason Crenshaw of DRMP was present to answer questions and will proceed with survey and design work to evaluate shifting the guardrail back from the pavement while preserving roadside safety.
