The La Porte Board of Zoning Appeals elected a new president at the start of the meeting and approved minutes from the December meeting.
A member said they would like to stand down from the presidency because of upcoming travel and asked whether the board should seek a volunteer or have the vice president step up. “I would actually like to stand down ... I’m gonna be doing a lot of travelling in the coming months,” the member said. Nate Lauks volunteered to serve as president; another member seconded the nomination and the board recorded the affirmative votes. “All those in favor? Aye. Aye. Aye. Any against?” the chair asked; no opposition was voiced and the chair said, “Duly elected.”
The board then conducted roll call; members present included Pete Saunders, Vicky Gusrowski, Mark Danielson, Bridal Kager and Nate Lauks. The board also moved to approve minutes from the December meeting; a member moved to approve and another member seconded, and the motion passed with the board recording the affirmative vote.
