Benton County supervisors approve multiple motions including staffing promotions, MOAs and retention payments

At its meeting the Benton County Board of Supervisors approved a series of motions and resolutions covering personnel actions, interagency agreements and routine claims.

Key actions recorded by the board included: approval of a memorandum of agreement on employee dental and prescription coverage, acceptance of a memorandum related to opioid‑services grant funds, formal approval of two sheriff’s office sergeant promotions under Resolution 25‑12, authorization to accept purchase agreements for bridge project easements, approval of regional retention payments tied to a mental‑health district transition and approval of county claims and audit-related invoices.

Several approvals were moved, seconded and carried by voice votes. The board used roll-call style votes for at least some items; for example, the resolution promoting Scott Bauman and Tyler Brandt to sergeant in the sheriff’s office was called by name with Tippett, Seaman and Rules recorded as "aye." On the retention‑payment item county staff told the board the stipend program will be reimbursed by the mental‑health region and state HHS and will not use county general‑fund dollars. For the opioid/OVA settlement funds grant memorandum, staff said the memorandum would let a partner provide services such as backpacks and transportation to clinics; the board approved bringing that agreement into Benton County.

The board also approved a memorandum of agreement to correct county‑paid shares for employee dental/prescription premiums after a contract wording error; staff said the MOA splits premiums between county and employee going forward. Claims and audit invoices discussed at the meeting (including final payments to an auditor contractor) were approved by motion.
