County staff seek approvals for school active‑shooter training, range rental and canine retirement
Summary
Kevin Ritchie briefed commissioners on several administrative items: use of Mountain View Middle School for a no‑cost ALERT training; a $33,746 contract with Rock Lake Bridal Range for long‑range firearms training after a scheduling change; a reduced lease for Inland Helicopter; and a planned resolution to retire patrol canine Max.
Kevin Ritchie, staff member presenting the package of administrative items, asked the Board of County Commissioners on March 11 to approve several routine agreements and a retirement resolution.
Ritchie said the county seeks a no‑cost facility-use agreement with East Valley School District to hold an ALERT (active attack integrated response) “train the trainer” course at Mountain View Middle School. He said the agreement is for facility use only and includes standard indemnification and damage coverage.
