Fairfield Township trustees spent an extended portion of their March 11 meeting discussing long-running problems at Fire Station 211 and whether to repair, extend or replace the building.
"We went ahead and hired a company to do some geotech borings on the parking lot to the south of the fire station," Miss McKenzie, the township staff member overseeing the project, told the board. The borings are intended "to be able to rule it out or rule it in" as a feasible site for a new station, she said.
