Castleberry ISD introduced Rigo Zabaleta as the district’s new director of auxiliary programs and facility maintenance during the board meeting.
Lenny Lascher introduced Zabaleta and summarized his background in K–12 facilities and construction. Lascher said Zabaleta joins Castleberry ISD from Garland Independent School District, where he served as director of maintenance for the past year and previously held assistant-director and maintenance-manager roles. Lascher said Zabaleta has more than two decades of experience in construction and roughly 15 years in K–12 operations.
Zabaleta addressed the board and audience, thanked the superintendent and board for the opportunity, and said he is committed to supporting safe, efficient facilities and building relationships with students, staff and the community.
“There is an honor to step into the role of the Director of Auxiliary Services and to serve the district alongside such a dedicated team,” Zabaleta said. “I appreciate the trust you have placed in me and I commit to ensuring that operations continue to support a safe, efficient and thriving learning environment for our students and staff.”
Presenters framed the item as an introduction and welcome; the transcript does not record a formal hiring vote or employment contract details during the meeting.
