On food-waste collection, Tisdale said the committee recommends the city initiate co-collection of food waste with existing yard-waste pickup using 32-gallon green carts (the county uses similar carts). He said the county's organics facility in Upper Marlboro accepts food scraps with yard waste at the same tipping fee as yard waste and that diverting food scraps could lower the city's landfill tipping fees.
