Chairman Gabe Johnson told the council members the application deadline for municipalities is March 14 and explained the known and unknown costs: a $2,500 application fee, a $2,500 one-time license fee if approved, and a $5,000 annual renewal fee. Johnson said a required insurance rider analogous to dram-shop coverage is expected but the League of Minnesota Cities and staff could not provide a firm price for that coverage.
