ConVentures said it seeks private funding to produce commemorative plaques and to partner with local historical organizations to amplify existing community ceremonies rather than supplant them.
On Evacuation Day, Rhodes said organizers plan an expanded Dorchester Heights program and off‑site activations that would include reenactors, multi‑state militia participation, and partnership with the Army and Navy. He described ticketed processions and reenactments with a projected audience of several hundred for some ceremonial elements and said planners are working to coordinate with local organizations such as the South Boston Citizens Association and the National Park Service.
Rhodes also outlined Sail Boston 2026 plans, including a multi‑day Tall Ships and international fleet arrival with confirmed participation from more than two dozen countries. He said the event would span July 11, 2026, with ships arriving in port beginning July 10 and staying through July 16. Organizers cited projected economic activity and coordination with state public safety and maritime agencies; Rhodes said ConVentures estimates seven‑figure economic activity but provided no venue or budget details in the presentation.
Commissioners did not raise substantive questions during the presentation. Rhodes credited numerous local planners and historical consultants for program accuracy and said detailed operational plans and funding requests remain under development.
