Bridal Martinez, director of PIMS and Pupil Accounting for Edinburg CISD, told the board the district’s official enrollment count for instructional day March 7, 2025, was 33,394 students, a decrease of 542 students compared with the same instructional day a year earlier.
Martinez said the district’s elementary schools had 16,836 students (down 265) and secondary schools had 16,558 students (down 277). She said the graduation year-to-date count is 101 students; the migrant cumulative percentage is 3.76%, an increase of 0.05 percentage points since the last report; and the district has enrolled 116 students who had not previously been in the district this school year.
Martinez said the district added a bilingual-count column (abbreviated “BIL”) to the published enrollment packet at a board request and also added a column to show how many students zoned to a campus are enrolled elsewhere. She said migrant-level information was removed from the printed table to keep the report readable but can be restored if the board requests it.
Martinez opened the floor for questions after the summary; no substantive policy vote followed the presentation.
Board members received the updated enrollment packet and Martinez answered data questions during the meeting.
