Marshall City Council approved the consent agenda, which combined several routine administrative and regulatory items into a single vote.
Items included approval of a new taxicab license; license renewals for garbage and refuse haulers (discussed separately later); introduction of amendments to the city's article related to graffiti; approval of permits for alcoholic beverages at city-owned facilities; adoption of the Lyon County 2024 Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan; authorization to declare Marshall Police Department vehicles as surplus; execution of a joint powers agreement between the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the Marshall Police Department; a request from the Lyon County Fair Board to use the former Budd Rose property at 1001 West College Drive for overflow fair parking during August 2025; and approval of bills and project payments.
Councilmember Craig moved approval of the consent agenda as amended and Jim seconded. The council voted and the motion passed. No items were removed for later separate action except the garbage hauler renewals, which were discussed and approved later in the meeting.
