Senate Judiciary committee approves Tiffany Pelham Webb for juvenile parole board

The Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee voted to send Tiffany Pelham Webb’s appointment as a citizen member of the juvenile parole board to the full Senate with a favorable recommendation.
The panel advanced the appointment after a brief confirmation hearing in which Brandy Harper, deputy administrator for the juvenile parole board at the Department of Human Services, introduced Pelham Webb and described her as the board’s nominee. Pelham Webb told the committee she has worked on delinquency cases and as a guardian ad litem, representing both youth and victims.
Pelham Webb said she would prioritize strong parole plans and access to rehabilitative services for youth returning to the community. “It’s definitely a balance between accountability and rehabilitation,” she said, adding that her experience as a lawyer and GAL showed her how limited access to services can hamper rehabilitation.
Mr. Vice Chair moved the favorable recommendation; the roll call recorded Ball (aye), Doherty (yes), Weisman (yes), the presiding chair (aye) and one other recorded yes for a vote the committee announced as 5 to 0 in favor. The committee then placed the appointment on the consent calendar.
The nomination will next go to the full Senate for confirmation. The committee wished Pelham Webb well and thanked her for volunteering service to Colorado youth.
