Franklin EDC finds about three dozen abatements in compliance during routine reviews

The Franklin City Economic Development Commission reviewed a long slate of annual abatement compliance reports and found roughly three dozen cases in compliance, approving motions for each file and forwarding Air Atomic’s separate expansion recommendation to city council.
EDC staff said the commission is responsible for reviewing 55 abatements this year and that about 32 cases were on the current agenda. Staff reported broad evidence of recovery from the pandemic: overall wages are up, investments are largely met and no companies on the agenda reported layoffs.
Commissioners took individually recorded motions to find compliance for a series of businesses representing distribution, manufacturing and technology operations.
