Board approves Breezeline franchise renewal subject to clarifying language on fiber and office service

Board members also asked county staff to inquire whether Breezeline will re‑establish any physical local office for customer service or payment in the county; staff agreed to request the provider’s position on that point and report back.
County counsel and staff said the franchise is not a new fee or tax instrument but an operational agreement between the county and a franchisee; the board voted to approve the renewal subject to the requested redlines and answers on local office availability. The vote did not include a final, signed contract; staff will relay the requested edits to the provider and return with the provider’s response and a redline for formal execution.
