Staff says demolition order for 1761 East Main Street proceeding after LLC address issue

Planning staff updated the Greenwood Advisory Planning Commission on March 10 that a demolition order for 1761 East Main Street had been issued but delivery went to an LLC with a similar name; staff said a corrected demolition order has been drafted and will be sent to the proper owner.
"We did send the order of demolition. There was a misunderstanding with the LLC involved in the ownership of the property. We have the next letter drafted demolition order drafted to the corrected LLC, and we'll we're pursuing it that way. So that is the update at this time," staff said.
When a commissioner asked whether the company was based in Columbus, staff replied that the entity turned out to be a California company with a similar LLC name. A commissioner, Mr. Seale, indicated a willingness to follow up on-site: "So I assume mister Seale is offering to take and carry it out there." Staff responded in the affirmative and said they would proceed.
No date for demolition or a formal vote was announced at the meeting. The commission treated the item as an administrative status update; staff will continue service and follow enforcement procedures for corrective addressing to the proper LLC.
