City Administrator Allison Murray told Rossford City Council on March 10 that the Maryland Drive drainage and pavement improvement project will begin next month and an open house for affected residents will be held the week of March 24.
Murray said residents on Maryland Drive should receive invitation letters this week. She also announced the city is accepting applications for an administrative assistant position, two seasonal public works positions and marina guards; applications are available on the city website and at City Hall.
Murray said the city will swear in the first class of eight full-time firefighters in Rossford fire department history on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Rossford High School Auditorium. Murray described the ceremony as open to the public.
During the mayor/administrator report the RCVB’s annual-review highlights were also noted: marketing activities that included a mobile RCVB unit and events such as Celebrate on Clark and an eclipse viewing event. The RCVB reported distribution of promotional materials and engagement metrics from online advertising. The RCVB supplied a visitor bag and printed materials for distribution at regional travel-industry events.
Other community items recorded in the public meeting: the city again is accepting applications for Hometown Heroes banner nominations with a March 28 submittal deadline, and the administration noted prior marketing and outreach activity that generated positive engagement for local hospitality and events.
Those announcements were presented as informational reports; the meeting transcript shows no formal council votes tied to these items during the March 10 session.
