The Broken Arrow Public Schools board approved the district’s temporary appropriations for the 2025–26 school year, awarded a security contract for the high school and authorized finishing the district’s smart-board replacement program at the high school.
On budget matters, the board approved an application for temporary appropriations that sets the district’s July 1 temporary budget while auditors complete year-end work. The roll call shows Dr. Kate Williams abstained and remaining members voted yes.
For school security, the board awarded the Broken Arrow High School Access Control Project to Merrick Group for $79,200. The work described in the presentation is access control primarily for doors in the high-school courtyard; the work will be paid for from general funds, the presenter said. The motion passed on roll call with Dr. Williams recorded as abstaining.
Technology and classroom equipment: The board approved the final phase of replacing SMART Boards at the high school with interactive BenQ panels and associated monitor upgrades, funded through bond dollars to complete the district-wide replacement. The district described this as the third installment of the replacement program; staff said some infrastructure and cabling work will begin over the spring break and installations will be planned around summer school. The motion passed with a roll call that again recorded Dr. Williams abstaining.
A general consent motion covering items 13 through 72 was approved by roll call earlier in the meeting. The transcript indicates motions, seconds and roll calls for these routine consent items; no specific dissent or amendments were recorded during the meeting.
The board later moved to an executive session on a separate motion; that motion passed by roll call with the members present voting yes.
